Universal Pre-K

What they say

Calls for universal First Class Pre-K.1

The record

Alabama already runs the nation's top-rated program: it has met all 10 national quality benchmarks for 20 straight years and costs about $185 million a year to serve 40% of 4-year-olds. Serving every 4-year-old at today's cost per child (about $7,650) works out to roughly $460 million a year. That's about $280 million more, every year, with no plan offered to pay for it.2

Child-care wage floor

What they say

Proposes a wage floor for child-care workers, plus a new refundable child-care tax credit.3

The record

Staff pay is the biggest cost in child care, at least half of a typical center's budget. Raise it by mandate and the bill lands on parents through higher tuition, or on taxpayers through the new credit. Usually both.4

New mandates on home builders

What they say

Proposes a new statutory warranty requirement and mandatory liability insurance for home builders.5

The record

Regulation already makes up about 24% of the price of a new home, roughly $94,000 on an average house, according to the National Association of Home Builders. More mandates mean higher prices for the young families he says he wants to help.6

  • Funded through ActBlue

Forrest Satterfield raises campaign money through ActBlue, the Democratic Party's fundraising platform. ActBlue is under investigation by three U.S. House committees, whose chairmen said in April 2026 that it “deliberately obstructed” their probe into whether illicit and foreign donations got through its system. In 2025 the President also ordered a Justice Department investigation. ActBlue denies wrongdoing.789
