Democrat · Opponent: John Roberts (R)

  • A judge found he stalked a woman

A Duval County, Florida judge entered a final injunction for protection against stalking against Drake on May 24, 2022. After a hearing, the court found the petitioner “is a victim of stalking.” The civil order ran one year and barred contact except through a court-approved third party.12

  • Accused of threatening to shoot her

The petitioner's sworn petitions (November 2021 and May 2022) alleged threats, forced entry into her home, following her to another state and texting her family, and that he “threatened to put a bullet in my head if he didn't have anything to lose.” These are allegations in the filings.12

  • His party has nothing to say

Alabama Democratic Party Chairman Bobby Singleton did not respond to Yellowhammer News' request for comment on the injunction.1

  • Bernie and Kamala donor

Federal records show contributions to Bernie Sanders' 2016 presidential campaign and the Harris Victory Fund in 2024.3

Gas tax vs. roads

What they say

Wants to suspend Alabama's gas tax, and in the same breath promises better roads and less traffic for District 2.45

The record

The gas tax is the road money. The Rebuild Alabama portion alone sent about $344 million in a single year to state, county and city road and bridge projects. Cutting off the funding for roads is a creative way to fix them.6

  • Funded through ActBlue

Rudolph Drake raises campaign money through ActBlue, the Democratic Party's fundraising platform. ActBlue is under investigation by three U.S. House committees, whose chairmen said in April 2026 that it “deliberately obstructed” their probe into whether illicit and foreign donations got through its system. In 2025 the President also ordered a Justice Department investigation. ActBlue denies wrongdoing.789
